Alignment Code Breaker!

 

Many vehicle models require the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) to be reset after an alignment service, including some Audi, BMW, Lexus, Chevrolet, Mini, Toyota and VW ranges. This has only been achievable using an OE calibration tool at the dealership, but the new Pro-Align SAS resetting tool offers an alternative. CodeLink enables independent bodyshops to carry out the procedure after conducting an alignment with the Hunter HawkEye WA imaging system. CodeLink recalibrates the vehicles SAS to match the final alignment angles of the vehicle, this ensures the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) functions properly.

By 2010 all new vehicles will be manufactured with ESC, so many will require an SAS reset. Failure to perform the SAS reset procedure, as required by the motor manufacturer, may cause several conditions that could result in comebacks.

The Hunter CodeLink reset procedure is quick and easy and is an ideal additional service and revenue opportunity for the independent bodyshop.

 

 

Panel Repair Improvement

 

Howard Basford has upgraded their panel repair systems supplied by PowerTec with the versatile Evolution Miracle system. All vehicle panel repair work undertaken by Basford is warranted. With the BSI Kitemark being an integral part of the company process, it has been important that certified PAS 125 supported training is provided for the Miracle System users by PowerTec.
